The purpose of our Youth Apostolate is to form our young parishioners in Christian virtue through prayer, service, and activity.
Prayer can come in various forms but here at St. Francis Xavier the youth are particularly formed in our parish devotion to Eucharistic Adoration. Service is acted out in charity to the poor and elderly in such ways as volunteering at local food pantry’s, nursing homes and in the parish community. There are also ample opportunities for fun and exciting activities such as skiing, hiking, biking, concerts and supervised trips to various events and settings.
Our Youth Apostolate is divided into two age groups: Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12). There are opportunities for these groups to meet, work, and serve together. Students in 11th and 12th grade who show interest and Christian maturity may be selected to serve as Peer Advisers being given some leadership role as they become examples to the younger children.
Our Youth Groups usually meet once per month (during the school year) at our parish school and/or Church basement. Please check our Weekly Bulletin for the upcoming meetings.
